Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television host in America and an instructor at Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Ann Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers the basics of cooking that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell has also worked at many of the best restaurants within New York, studied the food culture and culinary traditions of Italy as well as competed in Food Network's Iron Chef America. While growing up in Upstate New York, Chef Burrell was captivated by food and cooking in her early years. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute of being a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. I was unable to learn enough, didn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full time in Italy studying at Italy's Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. It was during this time that her experience in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian tradition and philosophy, which has had an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board member, which aims to increase the quality of life for children who face obstacles. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about childhood diabetes. as a speaker, guest and teacher she travels across the United States to discuss her love for cooking and career. Anne was always grateful that she could share the passion that she had for cooking with others.
