Rachel Emily Nichols

Rachel Emily Nichols was born in Augusta, Maine, the daughter of Alison and James Nichols, a schoolteacher. She is of French Canadian and English descent. Cony High School was her high school in Augusta. She graduated with a diploma in math as well as a competitive high jump. Columbia University in New York City was where she graduated with an honors degree in math and economics. She began modeling and began a successful modeling career, with prominent brands like Guess?, Abercrombie & Fitch or L'Oreal. Rachel was inspired to try acting after being offered a role in the HBO drama Sex and the City (1998). This was her first audition. Her film debut came as Jessica Matthews in Dumb and Dumberer: The Story of How Harry met Lloyd (2003). Her career continued to be successful through roles in films like The Amityville Horror (2006), The Inside (2005) and Alias (2001), G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009), Criminal Minds (2005) (a regular role in the role of FBI Agent Ashley Seaver) and Conan the Barbarian (2011). Columbia University, where she obtained a double degree in economics and mathematics, was her leading part as Kiera Cameron (police officer) in the science-fiction series Continuum (2012). Her maternal grandfather was three-quarters Italian and one-quarter German, and her maternal grandmother was of English and Scottish roots. Both Nichols along with Star Trek (2009) star Zoe Saldana, went on to work for Stephen Lang. Saldana was alongside Lang in Avatar (2009); Nichols and Lang in Conan the Barbarian (2011). On December 30, 2013, she became engaged to real estate developer Michael Kershaw. She is naturally blonde.
