Charisma Carpenter

 Charisma Carpenter was born on July 23rd 70 years ago. Cordelia Chase was a character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer's supernatural thriller series (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999-04). She was also a star in Charmed (2004) as well as Kendall Casablanca's (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell (2012-2013) and Lacy (2010-2012) Carpenter was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter is of Spanish (from her maternal grandfather), French, and German descent. Carpenter attended the Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas. Carpenter was an active member of a group of dancers and singers that was a part of Las Vegas Valley. Carpenter's family moved to Rosario Beach (Baja California, Mexico) at the age of Carpenter was just 15 years old. She went to Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter traveled all over Europe after graduating. She returned to San Diego and worked in the video store as an aerobics instructor, property manager and as a cashier. In 1991, she was employed as a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers football team. In 1992, she moved to Los Angeles.While swimming in San Diego in 1991, she and two male buddies were assaulted by Henry Hubbard Jr., the former San Diego police officer and serial rapist who tried to subdue them at gunpoint. Her friends as well as Hubbard were shot at during the fight. Hubbard fled the scene while both of her friends were able to escape. Hubbard was detained, later found guilty, and sentenced to 56 years in prison for a string of robberies and rapes. Carpenter took Hubbard's flashlight, an official police flashlight, off the beach. The flashlight proved to be a vital piece of evidence used against Hubbard.
