Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright (born 17 February 1991) is an English model, actress director, activist, and actress. The most well-known part of her career is that of Ginny Weasley, the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for 10 years before she was named as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright played in a number of independent films like Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films were met with mixed reviews. Wright made her debut on stage with Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth in 2013 at the Southwark Playhouse. In 2012 she graduated from the University of the Arts London with a degree in filmmaking. In 2012, Wright established BonBonLumiere and began producing short films. Her first directed project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival to high praise from critics. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), which featured Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both featured landscape and emotion. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) featuring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also produced music videos for singers Sophie Lowe, Pete Yorn, and Scarlett Johansson. Wright has gained recognition as an environmental activist; she also serves as an ambassador for charities Greenpeace as well as Lumos.
